TGISports Weekend Highlights!

BYU is the new Eastern Carolina - After Eastern Carolina lost to North Carolina State of all people, BYU stands as the only team from a non-BCS conference to have a shot at a BCS game. A 44-0 pounding of Wyoming kept the Cougars in the top 25 and my boy Max Hall in Heisman discussions. Not much stands in BYU's way of cruising to an unbeaten schedule and the right to be pounded by Florida or Auburn or Oklahoma.

Miami pounded the Patriots - So if the Cardinals beat Miami 31-10, and Miami beat New England 38-13, then the Cardinals would beat New England 69-23. Woo, Super Bowl here we come!

UCLA is awful - And you thought a 59-0 loss to BYU was the low point of the season for the Bruins. Nope, it was Saturday night when they lost 31-10 to the University of Arizona. How is that even possible? U of A is so bad only High School teams lose to them like that. And just the really bad ones, too, like Nerd High and Computer Science Academy.

ESPN loves the Yanks...so much - I know Yankee Stadium closing is a big deal, but is it worth devoting an entire day of freakin' coverage to how great it is? Do you have to make it so obvious you love New York sports? There's a whole other coast over here, other than the East coast, just look to your left.
