Thats it.

The Diamondbacks lost 7-4 to the Cardinals on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, on the west coast, the Dodgers were pounding the lifeless Padres in Los Angeles. The Diamondbacks put up a fight, but the Cardinals proved to much for them (especially Randy Johnson, who gave up 5 runs in 6 innings). John Rauch came in after Johnson and quickly gave up a pair of runs, something he seems to do every night since coming to AZ. John Gambodoro has called the trade for Rauch "the worst I've ever seen" after repeatedly calling for the D'backs to make the trade. This just about ends any shot the Diamondbacks had at making the playoffs. The magic number for the Dodgers is 3 and it would take the Dodgers going 2-3 the rest of the way and the D'backs winning every game for them to even force a playoff.
